Beyonce and Jay Z quietly paid protesters’ bail in Ferguson/Baltimore

I recently made a decision to not look for celebrities to “speak out” about certain things. Because honestly? Anybody can *say* anything.

One of the reasons why I decided to not put too much weight on whether celebrities make statements or not, is because you have situations like this going on….

NEW YORK:  Rap mogul Jay Z has quietly used his wealth to post bail for people arrested in protests across the United States against police, an author close to him said Sunday.

Dream Hampton, a writer and activist who worked with Jay Z on his 2010 memoir “Decoded,” made the revelations in a series of messages on Twitter that were deleted but were posted by the hip-hop magazine Complex.

“When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I… hit Jay up, as I had for Ferguson (and he) wired tens of thousands” of dollars within minutes, read one tweet.

She also tweeted that Jay Z and his pop superstar wife Beyonce wrote a “huge check” to support the burgeoning “Black Lives Matter” movement aimed at stopping police brutality.

…that you didn’t even know was happening.

Also, there is literally nothing some of these celebrities can do to satisfy (some) people.

Even when things like this happen…

Jay Z and Beyonce met with Brown and Gray’s families last week at a peace concert in Baltimore by Prince, leaving without making public appearances.

…people say that they only do it for the cameras, as if they can help that there are literally people with the JOB of catching their EVERY public move.

Anyway, this is what’s important. Showing support behind the scenes and using your resources to do so.

Tina Knowles-Lawson wrote an open letter to Beyonce, Solange, and Kelly and I’m all emotional.

To celebrate Mother’s Day,  Time asked famous moms to write open letters to their children. This is Tina Knowles-Lawson’s:

When I was asked to write an open letter to you, I thought about the hundreds of texts and emails that I have sent to you on holidays and on Sundays, when I ask you to say a prayer to thank God for each other. Every day, I wake up thinking about how much I love, admire and cherish each of you.

I gave birth to two of you, but I have four incredible daughters. Writing this brought to mind all the ways you guys have been such a blessing to me.

When I’m feeling sad or not-so-cute or maybe a little sorry for myself, and you all include me in your group chat and tell me how hot I still look or how cool I am. Maybe you send me a crazy YouTube video. What actually works best is a cute photo of my grandchildren.

I remember slumber parties after my divorce, when we watched old movies and ate a lot of ice cream. I felt so loved and supported. The roles were reversed, and it was ME who needed nurturing.

I remember my first date when every one of you weighed in on what I should wear.

The obvious things about all of you are apparent. You are all strong, beautiful, intelligent and smart businesswomen. You are so much more than that. You are all kind, generous and you treat people well. You are all amazing mothers, wives, daughters, sisters and friends. All of you have total self-respect.

Beyoncé, I wish people could see how you are when you’re not in front of the camera or on the stage. How compassionate and kind you are to people, how you look them right in the eye when you speak to them. How hard you work, how generous you are with your time and money. How you don’t care if anyone knows about it because you do it from the heart. I wish they could see you with the Make-A-Wish Foundation kids, how patient you are and how your love has helped to extend lives. Yes, you are a huge star, but you have somehow managed to stay grounded and humble in the wake of all your success.

Solange, I knew when you were born three days late that you would walk to the beat of your own drum. You were always my rebel warrior! Always defending the underdog and fighting for what you believe in. I remember you, at 10 years old, started a petition to remove a bad teacher, and your dad and I were so proud of you. I love that you do not let others define who you are, or what you are. Whether in your music, fashion or your life, you truly are your own incredible, unapologetic person! As tough as you are, you will drop everything to take care of someone you love.

Kelly, I know without a doubt that you were a true gift from God. You came to live with us when you were only 11 years old. You were the sweetest, most kind person I had ever met and you still are. You are also a true survivor. You never give up. Your discipline and drive always inspires me. You make me want to take better care of my body and constantly motivate me to exercise and take time for myself. You have the best listening skills and are a loyal friend to many. I’ve seen you take the jewelry off of your arm and give it to someone because you wanted to make them feel good.

Angie, you are my niece, but we have always been more like mother and daughter! You were always so mature, always challenging me and questioning why. (Fortunately I never believed in the “Because I said so” or “I’m the adult” crap, either.) I always trusted that you would look out for and protect Solange, Kelly and Beyoncé, and you did! You still do sometimes. You are so smart and perceptive, and you see through bullsh*t right away! You’ve always had our backs. Our own family fixer!! You know I call you Olivia Pope!!!!!

I’m often asked, what was my most proud moment? I would have to say it was at my recent wedding, when all four of you said in your own words that I taught by example and that I helped to make you the women you are today!!!! That was truly my proudest moment!

All my love,

This is all so sweet. Very touching words from a mother.

Mama Tina (Knowles) got married!!!! (Pics)

AHHHHH! Yes! Well, I guess she’s not Knowles anymore, huh?

I’m so happy for her! She deserves this happiness cause Matthew TRIIIIIIIIED it. Whew.

As reported by TMZ yesterday:

Beyonce’s 61-year-old mom is marrying 67-year-old actor Richard Lawson on Sunday evening — and the yacht is cruising around the harbor in Newport Beach, CA.

Everyone is dressed in white, including Blue Ivy. Solange was also there along with other relatives. The boat holds 300, and we’re guessing they could fill it to capacity if they want.

Check out more pics!

Simple but chic: All guests wore white for the ceremony on board the luxurious boat

All aboard! While it is unknown how many other guests were at the wedding, the yacht has a maximum capacity of 300 people

I thee wed: Tina, who started dating the 68-year-old actor in 2013, said: 'I'm at my happiest I've been in a long, long time'

Great look: All the guests - including Beyonce, her husband Jay Z, their three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and Tina's other daughter, Solange Knowles - were asked to wear white to the evening ceremony

Fresh air: Guests also took to the deck of the boat to enjoy the nearby surroundings

I can’t wait to see the professional photos from the event! And the short film that is sure to come, too!

Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Beyonce perform “Say Yes” at 2015 Stellar Awards {Video}

I’ve loved this song since the first time I listened to it. The beat is infectious, and while the message is simple, it’s POWERFUL.

“When Jesus say yes, nobody can say no!!!”

Whew! When Jesus has something for you, NOBODY can do a thing about it!

Michelle Willams, Kelly Rowland, and Beyonce performed their song at the 2015 Stellar Awards:

This is now one of my favorite live performances of them. Again, I’m biased cause of my love for the song, but it was an amazing performance (in my opinion). They look good and they SOUND good! Yes, ladies!!!

Now, y’all know how I feel about Bey so y’all know my eyes were glued on her. LOL. I’m glad she was in a venue where she could loosen up and offer up her praise instead of standing still on a block (Grammys). Get your praise on, Bey!

Ohhhh but when Michelle got to the end with, “When Jesus opens a door, it’s a door that no man close…” Y’all, the tears just came streaming down. It spoke to me on a personal level with a specific situation, but generally speaking….WHEW. Powerful.
