Law student calls Karen Civil a n*gger on Instagram, Dean of school says student was hacked

And I am calling COMPLETE bullshyt on it. Here’s the original Instagram post:

Annnnnd then here is the comment from this little Sweetie Pie:

karencivil

Now. You know people were ALL UP in Daniella Pedrozo’s business. And…it turns out she’s a … LAW SCHOOL STUDENT.

Well, I’m thinking that it probably isn’t a good thing to have these types of people practicing law, right?

Karen Civil was definitely on it (as was everybody else):

Yes ma’am.

But. Check out this statement on behalf of Sis. Pedrozo, by the dean of Barry University’s Law School:

An important message from Barry Law School Dean Leticia Diaz regarding inflammatory posts made on a law student’s Instagram account:

On Thursday, December 4, several inflammatory and offensive posts were made on Instagram using an account owned by a Barry Law student. These comments were not made by the student. The student lost her cell phone on Thursday. The phone was not password-protected, and the comments in question were apparently posted by the person who took the phone. As soon as the student became aware of the situation, she took all appropriate measures, contacting Instagram and her mobile service provider, as well as filing police reports with the Coral Gables and City of Miami police departments.

As dean of Barry University School of Law, I want to make clear that Barry University does not condone and does not tolerate any discriminatory remarks or behavior. We condemn them in the strongest terms. The University is committed to providing a work and learning environment that is free of discrimination, harassment and other prohibited conduct.

Dean Leticia M. Diaz

Oh really? She was hacked?

Yeah. Ok.

It would be better to just say you don’t see anything wrong with this behavior. Insulting our intelligence? Not a good look.

Now, check this out:

“As soon as the student became aware of the situation,” Diaz wrote, “she took all appropriate measures.”

“That includes filing police reports with Miami and Coral Gables police, and taking down her social media accounts.”

Sorta! Dean Diaz may want to reconsider the words “as soon as.”

A spokeswoman with Coral Gables PD confirmed that Pedrozo filed a simple harassment complaint.

But she did it at 11:30 a.m. today, more than 12 hours after the exchanged with Civil.

In the complaint, Pedrozo claims she lost her phone on a bus at Miami International Airport last night and someone, not her, used it to post on Instagram.

“As soon as,” huh? Tuh.

However, it seems as if the situation is NOW being investigated, when Diaz wrote via Instagram (but I can’t find the post so I’m not 100% sure this info is real):

“I want to assure you that we are continuing to investigate this matter, fully,” Diaz wrote. “We find the comments addressed to Karen Civil abhorrent and such behavior will not be tolerated at Barry University School of Law.”
