I was enlightened by one of my readers. And of course, when I first read this headline I was like…eh….it may not be a big deal.

It is.  It’s a huge deal.

TMZ reports:

Jay Z was ferociously assaulted by Beyonce’s sister Solange  … who was wildly kicking and swinging at him inside an elevator … and the attack was captured on surveillance video … obtained by TMZ.

According to our sources, it all went down at a Met Gala after party last week at the Standard Hotel in NYC.  In the video … Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange step into the elevator … and then Solange goes crazy, screaming at Jay before unleashing a violent attack.

A large man — who appears to be a bodyguard — attempts to hold Solange back, but she manages to connect at least 3 times.  At one point Solange throws a kick and Jay grabs her foot, but never attempts to strike her.  Beyonce stands by without getting physically involved.

It’s unclear what triggered the fight.

And this is interesting.  When you look closely, you see the bodyguard hit the emergency stop switch on the 12th floor — mid fight — presumably to keep the fight private.

This is all bad.  All bad.  No matter how you look at it.  First of all, Solange was pissed off about something (obviously).  The speculation and “inside information” is about to be ridiculous.

There is no explanation that can make this go away.

Shoutout to Jay Z for not physically retaliating, though.  He was literally attacked.

I know Bey is livid and hurt.  She hates for personal stuff to get out there.  And your sister and husband are fighting? She’s stuck in the middle…I cannot imagine.

People are saying Beyonce should’ve stopped Solange.

HOW?

1. What could Bey have done that Julius COULDN’T?

And then some of y’all are asking, “if your sister attacked your husband would you let her?” The answer is no. If it’s me, my husband, and my sister….she’s not going to be able to physically attack him with me watching. But IF. THERE. IS. A. PAID. BODYGUARD. THERE. TO. RESTRAIN. HER. what is the point of me meddling?

2. Y’all wanted her to talk Solange down? Have y’all ever tried to “calm” someone down who was in a rage? It’s basically impossible. How can you talk to someone calmly when they are in that frame of mind? How?

3. I guess y’all missed the part when Bey DID step in and try to diffuse the situation, huh?

Part of me thinks that she was sincerely pissed at Jay for good reason…and just took it way too far.

Another part of me knows that Solo is hotheaded and pops off about … anything. 

Ugh! I need audio!!

Further, Dame Dash is petty.
