Houston Father Kills Boy He Found In His Daughter’s Bedroom

Totally avoidable situation SMH (via My Fox Houston):

Homicide investigators are gathering evidence after a father shoots and kills a teenage boy he found in his daughter’s bedroom.

A spokesperson for the Harris County Sheriff’s office said Deputy constables from pct 4 responded to a 911 call around 2:20 a.m. about a shooting in the Bridgestone Lake Subdivision in Northwest Harris County.

Police tell FOX 26 reporter John Donnelly that the father was notified that there was someone in his daughter’s bedroom by one of his other children.

The father then went into the girl’s bedroom and discovered the 17 year old male in bed with his 16 year old daughter.  The daughter denied knowing who the boy was.

A confrontation between the father and boy started.   The boy apparently wasn’t listening to the father’s commands and reached for something.   It ended with 17 year old being shot and killed at the scene.

The 16 year old girl later admitted to investigators that she did know the boy and had let him into the home.

The father’s was taken by ambulance from the home for treatment of an unrelated medical situation.

So far no arrests have been made.

Of course, my first reaction is, (1) you’re in MY house (2) I told you to leave (3) you refuse (4) which now means you’re trespassing (5) then  you argue with me in MY house (6) then you grab something to do me harm…. (7) so yeah, I get to shoot you.

However, I’m not sure if it’s gonna work out that way legally for the father.  The argument is probably gonna be that the boy could’ve been reaching for his clothes. However, this man had other children in his house, was led to believe that his daughter was in some kind of a harmful situation, and the bottom line is when someone is telling you not to move and has a gun pointed at you….DON’T. MOVE.

It turns out that the family of the boy who was killed, Johran McCormick, wants the girl to be charged for his death.

I totally saw this coming.

Family, friends and supporters of Johran McCormick, the teen who was shot and killed by his girlfriend’s father, want the girlfriend to be held accountable for her role in his death.

Led by Community Activist Quanell X, the group rallied Wednesday morning with the victim’s mother, Zakia McCormick, in front of the home where he was killed.

The Harris County Grand Jury will decide if the father is to face charges, but many think the teen girl is also at fault.

Johran’s family and supporters demand that Houston District Attorney Devon Anderson motion to file either one to two counts of accessory to murder, or involuntary manslaughter against the young girl who they say intentionally lied to her father, which led to Johran’s death.

That boy was shot…in the head. I mean, that’s a bit much. I know you aren’t thinking about WHERE you shoot people when you shoot them, but goodness.

Tragic situation.
