Beyonce Donates $7 Million to House Houston’s Homeless

As if I needed more reasons to love her.

THIS is what should be getting national attention.  I love it.  And I love it even more because she isn’t the one who even announced it.

Her pastor, Rev. Rudy Rasmus (St. John’s United Methodist Church, Houston, Texas), did an interview with KHOU and spoke on the $7 million donation she made to house Houston’s homeless.

Rasmus presided over Beyonce’s 2008 wedding to rapper Jay Z. There have been rumors of marriage problems, and family disputes, such as when video of an elevator altercation between Beyonce’s sister Solange and Jay Z was made public.

Rasmus said he doesn’t follow the tabloids. “And I validate my information with a conversation with the individual.”

He also said it’s important to separate the entertainer from the person. It’s part of the message of his new book, “Love Period. When All Else Fails.”

“When we decide to love period, we’re saying there’s nothing to follow the period. We’re gonna love you for who you are, where you are, without conditions.”

Rasmus said Beyonce and her family have donated millions to the church to help house the homeless and feed the poor.

“She’s an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.”

It’s a ministry Beyonce has been a part of since she was just a young girl.

“She used to sing right here,” said Rasmus. “I don’t remember the song but I do remember she had long braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today.”

Rasmus believes today Beyonce embodies the spirit of the book he hopes touches the world.

“Love never fails. A lot of things will fail but love will never disappoint you.”

Amen!

Again, I am amazed at the negativity I’ve seen in some of the comments of people on the sites that have reported this.  Goes to show that no matter what Beyonce does, she can never satisfy some people. SMH

Y’all stay mad tho.
