I’ve Learned My Lesson: Trust Shonda Rhimes

As I’m sitting here rewatching the “Scandal” season finale, I recall the many emotions that I experienced while watching last night.  The first was anger.

Mad that the church didn’t blow up to the point where there were only ashes left.

Mad that Sally got out of the church.

Mad that Eli only had to say, “Tell your dad what’s wrong” for her to spill her guts.

And then I moved from my anger to pure disgust and and a strong need to regurgitate. This was solely due to Huck and Quinn having sex.  I mean EW. Really, Shonda? Why?  I WAS EATING!!!! And they didn’t even clean up the blood!  This disgust moved on to more anger because QUINN. IS. STILL. ALIVE.

Then I got confused.  Oh, so confused. Cause Fitz was in his office making plans to move to Vermont and having two kids with Liv, but then what I thought was him suddenly moving from a loathing for Mellie to loving her again?  So confused. So so confused.

Then I smiled briefly cause Huck’s family is alive. 🙂

At this point, I was a mix of emotions.  Anger, disgust, confusion, and borderline psychotic cause Fitz is about to give a speech and will lose the election which means there is no more “Scandal” which means Shonda is about to pull the rug from up under ALL of us and NO. MA’AM. NOT. OKAY.

OHHHHHHH BUT THEN.

Little Jerry sneezed.

And then the next thing I know Liv is in front of the nation telling us the baby has died! HE’S DEAD!!!!!! WUUUUUUT!?

And THIS is the point when it hit me.  This is GREAT.  This is about to be the best episode this show has ever seen. And boy was I right.  The anger, disgust, and confusion was ALL worth it. The last half of this show almost killed me from ONLY being able to breathe during the commercial breaks.

Liv is so naive. But MAN am I glad she decided to let Jake go with her. Yes.

Fitz is going to lose his damn mind when he finds out Liv is gone with Jake. That man isn’t going to be able to function.

The scene towards the end where there was a high shot of Fitz in agony on his knees over the presidential seal? LOVE IT.  That was the summary of this entire season. Love it.

He asked Mellie where was Liv.  Cold blooded, bruh (but answered my previous question about still loving Mellie).

That was THE quickest packing job I have EVER seen anyone do before in my life. Liv is superwoman, I guess.

Poor David is going to die.  Probably at the hands of Eli Pope. SMH.

At one point during this season I was contemplating who was more evil, Daddy Pope or Mama Pope.  The answer is Daddy Pope.  Eli Pope is definitely the answer here.

Harrison is smart and dumb all at the same damn time.

He’s dumb because he confronted Eli Pope.  Period.

He’s smart because he figured it all out.  And it was at THIS point, around 54:50 into the episode, when he told Eli, “This all worked out great for you,” that I. got. my. life.  I literally said, “WAIT!!??”  From that point on it was a bunch of gasping, hollering, and cussing.

It was also at this point where I learned my lesson.

Trust Shonda Rhimes.

This women knows exactly what she is doing.  She did not disappoint with this season finale.  I was worried, because this season has had its ups and downs for me.  There have been times when I’ve been like, “eh.”  But this made up for all of that.  Yes.

Trust Shonda Rhimes.

Fun fact (kinda):  From what I understand, they film each episode the week it airs.  This was proven to me with how Shonda left Harrison’s fate.  Since Columbus Short currently losing his damn mind, Shonda gave him the chance to shape up, or get killed off.  I love it.  Again, everything was brilliantly done. So yeah.

Trust Shonda Rhimes.

Until September, People!  Peace.
